In the Governor's Ceremonial Office in front of Governor Atiyeh's custom Oregon State Seal, NASA astronaut Dave Griggs passes a plaque commemorating the seven crew members lost in the Challenger space shuttle disaster to Victor Atiyeh. The plaque contains a U.S. flag and an Oregon flag that were aboard the Challenger.
