1984 State of the State address given by Gov. Atiyeh at the Red Lion Motor Inn in Springfield, Oregon. Atiyeh reflects on Oregon's emergence from the recession, state achievements in land use reform, legislation against drunk driving, and other achievements of his first term, and expresses his pride in the state and people of Oregon. He also proposes his goals for the remaining three years of his administration: to protect Oregon's economy (particularly through tax reform), to preserve its natural resources, and to protect the rights of its diverse peoples.
