Her mother is from Puerto Rico and her father is from Iran. Growing up, both English and Spanish were spoken at her home. She never learned to speak Farsi. For 10 year of her life, she lived in South America where she worked in a private Catholic boys’ school. In Hillsboro, the district has Spanish Outreach for the community, for parents and adults.
