Prof. H. Lyman,
Dear Brother,
Your letters have been both of them received; and the requests therin complied with. The money has been paid over to the pub-lishers of the Pacific; and the request for passes over the Railway has been sent to Dr. Dwinell of Sacremen—to. The chief officers and office of the Central Pacific are at that place; He will be heard from in due time, & in secure Heretofore the chief difficulty about passes has been with the Union Pacific Road. How it is now, I do not know – we shall be likely to hear, however.
