A speech by U.S. Congressman Les AuCoin titled "Oregonians Demonstrate Americanism" and given on the U.S. House floor. In his speech, Congressman AuCoin expressed his support for the welcoming of "Indochinese refugees", noting Oregon's high per capita concentrations of refugees from countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and China. He applauded Oregon Governor Bob Straub's efforts in supporting the refugees, as well as the Oregonians to Save the Boat People organization for sponsoring the refugees.
