Elevated view of Forest Grove from water tower
Title
Elevated view of Forest Grove from water tower
Description
A colorized picture taken from the water tower located on the west side of A Street between Pacific Avenue and 21st Avenue. View is looking northwest. The street in front is 21st Avenue going west to the left and the other is B Street going north from the left to the right. The house on the corner will be moved around the corner onto B Street at a later date. The current Post Office is where the trees are in the foreground. The white house on the left was A. T. Smith’s residence when he moved into town. Both houses mentioned here are still standing.
[front] David’s Hill, Forest Grove Ore. [back] Miss Lillie Kyllmem; Pullman, Wash.; postmarked Forest Grove, Nov 25,1907, stamp has been removed. Dear Lilly,- What a lucky girl you are to be in school again! It seems as thought I will never get ready to go again. I am going home for the Thanksgiving Holidays. I have only been home once since school began. Where is your sister, Lillie, in school? Did Dora Knox take the place you vacated? May you have a merry Thanksgiving Day. Elsie
