A student work crew at Pacific University in 1935. The funds for the work crews were provided by the National Youth Movement. From left to right they are Melvin Rehse, Leo Halter, John Seus, Eldon Bryant, Alton Nickels, Harold Nickels, Gerald Ransom, and Mr. Frank Cate, the foreman.

Recenty [sic] one member of the crew uncovered an 18 caret gold wedding ring and an 1816 fifty cent piece. Crew members are from left to right Melvin Rehse, Leo Halter, John Seus, Eldon Bryant, Alton Nickels, Harold Nickels, Gerald Ransom, Mr. Frank Cate, foreman. Picture was taken in 1935.
