Hillsboro Argus Newspaper, May 24, 1906; 'Pacific Railway & Navigation (PR&N) railway is built to Banks. Banks appears on the railroad map of Washington County, the P. R. & N. Railway having Monday morning reached the town with its steel, and the first train out of the city to Hillsboro carried Albert A. Mead of Buxton, and Ben Dooley of Banks. The little town in on a steady boom, and its business men see a great future.' (Note the large group of loggers posing on the trainload of logs being shipped out.)
