Description

A studio portrait of Henry Franklin Gordon in his mid-years. He has a longish beard and mustache that covers his lips entirely and his hair is gray on the sides. He is wearing a shirt, jacket and overcoat. A Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) medal pinned to his jacket. The GAR was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army, US Navy, Marines and Revenue Cutter Service who served in the American Civil War. He is also wearing a round pin on his overcoat lapel and it looks like a pen in the breast pocket. Birth: March 14, 1843. In Warren Trumbull County Ohio, Death: Oct. 12, 1929. Hillsboro Washington County Oregon.
