Former U.S. senator, Maurine Neuberger will select the winner of the Cedar Mill Heritage Quilt, a project by members of the Cedar Mill Community Library Assn. at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Milltowner Mall in Cedar Mill. This will be during a handicraft and art sale and display and rummage sale at the Mall which will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each quilt block represents a scene from Cedar Mill history and was executed by a different person. Since April, a group of 15 artistic women, accomplished in stitchery and sewing, have been at work creating the quilt, according to spokesman. Blocks and their creators are as follows: First Cedar Mill School, Mildred Kidby; Wesley Chapel, Diane West; the Katterman home, Sue Peterson; Lone Pine, Lalia Hampton; Leedy Grange, Shirley Corey; Standing Oaks, Wilma Kennedy; Walters home and apple tree, Muriel Van Veen; Cedar Mill falls, Sandy Jandik ; the Young house, Mary Packer; West Tualatin View School, Marvel Noyes; Postal cancellation and stamps Margye Armstrong; Pioneer cemetery, Judy Killpack; the cedar mill, Judy Ackerman; Blatter home and holly, Sue Jones; William Walker home, Ruth Simpson. Dolly Freed, artist and photographer, provided pictures or drawings of the subjects, and Sue Peterson was in charge of the project. Proceeds go to Cedar Mill Community Library.
