Description
Sepia-toned image of a group of students standing outside of a log building with a woman. The gabled building is made of squared off logs with double-hung, paned windows, and sits in an open field on a hilltop surrounded by trees. The children are arranged in two rows, one sitting and one standing. Most are grammar school age; the girls wear dresses and most of the boys are in suits. The teacher stands at the far left of the back row, and wears a dress with puffed sleeves and a high neck, and her hair is worn up towards the front and top of her head.
