Description
Sepia-toned studio portrait of a woman seated on a couch. She sits with one leg crossed over the other, and her hands in her lap. Her dress is dark, with a tunic style bodice over an elaborately flounced skirt. She wears a large lace collar that ties in a jabot, with a brooch just visible at the center of the bow. The couch appears to be a Victorian style fainting couch, covered with a thick pelt of fur.
