Her hair is curly and dark and pulled back with a large dark ribbon. A blonde, curly-haired child stands in the middle of the photo, leaning with one arm on the woman's lap. The child's dress is also dark, with a wide white lace collar. The woman wears a fitted, long-sleeved bodice with small buttons and velvet trim on the cuffs and along the front seams. Her skirt is long and pleated, and she wears earrings. Her hair is also curly, and is pulled back severely.
