A group portrait of Pacific University faculty, students, alumni, trustees and founders, taken on the occasion of Commencement in 1892. The group is posing on the lawn in front of Old College Hall, the oldest building on campus. At the time, it was called "College Hall." The back of the photograph has a list of names of people appearing in the photograph, but they are not listed in order of appearance.

Some of the notable people in the portrait include: Thomas McClelland (4th President of Pacific University, served 1892-1900); William Ferrin (Faculty and 5th President of Pacific U., served 1900-1913); Eliza Haskell Marsh ("Mrs. Dr. Marsh", widow of Pacific's 1st President); Joseph W. Marsh (professor and half-brother of Pacific's 1st President ); and Pacific founders and their family members including Mary Richardson Walker ("Grandma Walker"), Alanson Hinman, Margaret "Dolly" Hinman, Myron Eells, and Jane Averill Smith ("Mrs. A. T. Smith").
