Portrait of a man, possibly Samuel A. T. Walker

Title

Portrait of a man, possibly Samuel A. T. Walker

Description

A portrait of a man in a hat: likely Samuel A. T. Walker. Walker, also known as "Saturday Sam," was the shoemaking instructor at the Forest Grove Indian School and the Chemawa Indian School in the 1880s. He was also a fiddler who later became known for his band, Walker's Old Time Orchestra. This photo was originally found with Walker Family material and it is likely there is a connection.
